Privacy Policy

Therapy First Physiotherapy commits to protecting the privacy of all individuals who use our service.

Personal Information

Therapy First Physiotherapy may require personal information to support an individual’s treatment process or to handle their enquiry. This information may include name, date of birth, address, email, contact number, referral source, and a brief description of their condition. We may collect personal information in several ways, depending on the situation:

When an individual discloses personal information verbally or in writing, they consent to its use for physiotherapy purposes. This information is stored and used in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 (see Confidentiality and Data Protection Policy). We do not disclose personal information to any third party without obtaining prior consent unless required by the referral source or by law.

Access to Personal Information

Individuals under the care of Therapy First Physiotherapy have the right, under the GDPR 2018, to request the information we hold about them and have any inaccuracies corrected. To access this information, an individual must submit a written request (please call 07545 767 067). Once we receive the request and confirm its validity, we will check whether we hold the requested information.

We will then estimate the cost, according to the Information Commissioner’s Office guidelines, and inform the requesting party of the fee. You must pay the fee within three months, but you can dispute it. If you dispute the fee, the appeal process follows in accordance with the Information Commissioner’s Office. After you pay the fee, we will gather and assess the information, considering whether personal data exemptions apply, whether the individual’s legal rights may be affected, or whether we need to inform any third parties (e.g., the referring insurance intermediary). We will respond to all requests within 28 days of receiving them.
